I'm excited for spring too-- can't wait for the farmer's market to start!

We tried a CSA for a while one year after the farmer's market ended for the season-- they delivered a box once a week. While we could specify a few likes and dislikes, I still found it hard to plan around. I guess flexibility isn't my forte. Part of the problem was it came on Tuesdays, and I did my shopping on the weekends, so I never knew what veggies to plan meals around until after I had already shopped. I did end up wasting a lot, so we stopped. :( Maybe we'll try it again some winter now that I'm home and more able to shop after the box would arrive!

I love Trader Joes flowers, too, and bud vases is a great idea - you can split up a single bouquet and brighten every room in the house! I tend to use glass soda bottles for that purpose.

I've been thinking about joining a CSA. I think it's a great idea, but I can't get past the fact that the whole family is kind of picky when it comes to veggies. I'd be afraid of wasting most of what we get!
