We tried a CSA for a while one year after the farmer's market ended for the season-- they delivered a box once a week. While we could specify a few likes and dislikes, I still found it hard to plan around. I guess flexibility isn't my forte. Part of the problem was it came on Tuesdays, and I did my shopping on the weekends, so I never knew what veggies to plan meals around until after I had already shopped. I tend to use glass soda bottles for that purpose. I've been thinking about joining a CSA. I think it's a great idea, but I can't get past the fact that the whole family is kind of picky when it comes to veggies.
