Delhi Belly: 8; Me: 0
Well, I’m back home now from India. Half of me is screaming “Thank goodness,” happy to have non-spicy food options, the comforts of home, and my own bed. The other half is sad that I don’t get to stick around longer and see the real India instead of the inside of board rooms and busses. I left behind 8 lbs. with Mr. Delhi Belly. And come to think of it, I believe Mr. DB decided to sneakily stow his way onto my flight and visit here in the states for a while. I’m still not 100%.
Today I’m taking the day off to rest from a long couple of days of travel, but should be back in full swing tomorrow. In the meantime, I think I’ll look through some pictures and see what they look like.
Till later!

Welcome back! It sounds like an adventure. As far as the food goes, I *love* Indian food, and I seem to want to go to an Indian restaurant every time there is a special occasion to celebrate. But, I think if I had to eat it every day, it would get pretty old. Your poor tummy. Sounds like you need a week of ultra-bland food to set you right again!

Sounds like your first trip to India was a lot like mine, although count your small blessings that you had the benefit of the wonderful invention of bottled water. (For all you environmentalists out there decrying it, visit a small rural village there where you eat burning hot food and then have to drink recently boiled water, and get back to me.)
But I digress, the food is usually delicious there, although I can’t seem to ever be at 100% even now after several trips. It’s still a great time though — once you get past the system shock!

@Lisa Clarke:
It’s funny… I love Indian food as well (it’s great for vegetarians!), but spicy food for breakfast just never crosses my mind. I think it’ll be a few weeks before I can have Indian again, sadly. The thought right now just makes me cringe. But soon, I hope!
